Rare vintage 40's tilt hat in a soft, velvety feel, black wool felt.
No makers mark or name.

Brimless, with a high crown.
Back elastic strap with grosgrain ribbon inner band.
Decorative black velvet outer band with bow in back.
The outer crown is 3 1/4" high, and the inner crown is appx 2024 3" high.
Diameter at top is appx 8 1/2" x 8 1/4"
The hat is a size 22.

Very good condition for a hat of this age.
The velvet ribbon bow in back is a little frayed.
There might possibly have been netting. There's a spot in back ( a tiny cut) that feels like something may have been tacked or sewn there.
