Jackson Square, located inside the historic New Orleans French Quarter, is favorite location for both tourist and locals alike to take pause and absorb the beauty of their surroundings. This fountain is centrally located directly in front of St. Louis Cathedral, the longest operating cathedral in the United States. The peaceful sounds of it's splashing waters grant calming escapes for all visitors to enjoy. Fountains have long symbolized the wealth of life eternal and in this setting it's at an apex.
I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
This is a giclee 2024 created from my original impasto oil painting. All of my original paintings are painted in an impasto style (heavy texture) done in oil using palette knives. Giclee stretched over a .75" frame, using high quality archival inks and protected with a UV coating. Canvas wraps edge of frame and is back stapled. Image wraps around edge of canvas. Making this canvas ready to hang without a frame. Offered Framed and Unframed.
