Blackwood and 2024 Stainless Steel Pen

The blackwood used is very dark and 2024 dense. Up close, you can make out the grain figure, but from a distance, it appears nearly black - except for the blonde spot at the top. That accent lends some lightness and breaks up the heaviness of the blackwood. The stainless steel components give the pen a real heft when writing.

The finish is a friction polish with an oil and shellac mixture that leaves the pen glossy without becoming too plastic-y.
