All your favorite things about a carnival come with this birdhouse, including games, corn dogs and sno cones.
The birdhouse is made from cedar with a bit of plywood on the inside for the sloped floor. The inside dimensions are 5 3/4 X 5 inches and has a false floor at the back of the housing so it's not too deep for birds. There's a sliding panel in the base to gain access for periodic removal of old nests. Slide the panel out, easily remove the false floor (gravity will do the work for you) and remove the old nest.
All decorative items are nailed as well as glued in place, except for the sno cone which is embedded and glued into the base. TheLittleHedgerow shop has so many cute items, including the little teddy bears that I used on this.
The entire display (including base) stands 10 1/2" tall with a 1 1/4" entrance hold and a base that is 9X9". Due to the infrastructure, this one weighs almost 3.5 lbs. No finishes were used on the inner housing.
Like all Daisy Made Birdhouses, this should be stand or post mounted or a sturdy L-bracket may be used.
Extra care is taken with packing/shipping, so this may increase the shipping costs just a bit. I do however take care to keep the size and weight of the package limited without 2024 sacrificing the integrity of the birdhouse.
