Chinese trinket box with large hand 2024 painted vase shard.

The shape of this box it seems, was determined by the previous life of the hand painted porcelain shard that adorns it's top. The shard apparently came from a vase. The ladies that curve around its surface once had companions in the round.

The painting 2024 is sweet Three ladies in pretty blouses hand around in a landscape One of them points rather definitely off stage.

The shard is set into a tinned copper box with machine stamped border decorations.

It is 2 1/2” tall X 5 1/4” long X 4 7/8” wide.
