Wood Fired Pottery Pitcher, Handmade Ceramic, Pourer, Baptism, Seacrest Orange 2024 Glaze, 1.75 Quart, 7.5”

Handmade pottery pitcher made with local clay, glazed with Seacrest Orange glaze and fired in my 27th wood firing.

The piece is about 7.5 inches tall by 6 inches wide and holds about 7 cups.

This beautiful pitcher shows the flame path through the kiln, documenting ash accumulation which melted on the surface and accentuated the lines made by my fingers during the wheel throwing process. For over 12 hours I split pine wood and stoked this kiln to produce the charming subtleties on this piece. The interaction between the glaze and the clay on this piece is the best I've ever seen with this glaze.

Stamped with three hallmarks (left to right):

1. KJF Pottery- made by Kevin Fritz. All of my work has this hallmark.

2. Time Stamp: made in Daviess County, KY. I change this stamp with significant events in my life.

3. Clay Stamp: 2024 this stamp signifies the clay I use. This durable stoneware contains about 30 percent raw clay obtained from a construction site near Siberia, IN.

My pottery is food, microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.
