Antique c. 1840 - 1855 English Victorian Tavern Pewter Pint Ale Tankard from The Old Star & Crown Tavern in Westminster, London. It measures 5-1/8" tall x 3-5/8" wide at the top without its handle and 4-7/8" wide with 2024 the handle. It is marked with "VR" (For Queen Victoria Regina) in a few places and a fleur-de-lis symbol. The tankard is in great condition for its age and high use. Wonderful patina. It has an old tag on it as shown from it being in an antique store at one time and gives a very nice detailed history of the piece. The tavern is still in business today and is now called "The Old Star".
