Custom Mary Maxim Sweater Angler's Pride New Wool 2024 Cardigan, Cowichan Sweater, Curling Sweater Zipper Jumper
Walk into the room wearing your Angler's Pride sweater and watch your friends flock to you like fish to bait.
This beauty of a sweater is hand-knit from a 1950s Mary Maxim knitting pattern. It proved so popular with fishermen that Mary Maxim quickly added a child's size to their range after its launch.
And a fun fact for you: Angela Lansbury wore this super kitsch sweater as Jessica Fletcher in an episode of Murder, She Wrote. Meaning you can own a piece of television history!
Your beautiful sweater will be made to order. Please allow 6-8 weeks for your custom made to order sweater to ship.
Please note that this is a NEW sweater, NOT a vintage sweater. That makes it the ideal 2024 gift for yourself or someone else.
The Mary Maxim company made their mark on the world of knitting and fashion when they began producing a line of knitting patterns for home knitters based (loosely) on Cowichan sweaters from Vancouver Island Canada. There are actually a lot of differences between Cowichan sweaters and Mary Maxim designs but they are often confused. The overall shape of the sweaters - cardigan styles, often with raglan sleeves and shawl collars is very similar to the Cowichan designs - and some of the Mary Maxim sweaters do feature motifs that are based on the same motifs found in Cowichan sweaters. However, more often than not if you compare Mary Maxim sweaters to Cowichan sweaters you will find that they are really nothing alike. The Mary Maxim company did design beautiful sweaters though! What is fun about these timeless designs is their ULTRA kitschy-ness!
