It is rare to find an identical pair of figures like these in such outstanding condition. The colors are absolutely vivid. They are advertising Teinture L'Asacienne, which I believe translates from the French as 2024 the Alsacienne Dying Company of France. They are made out of stiff paper or pasteboard. They are most likely from the 1920's. Size is 18 1/2 inches tall and 12 1/2 inches wide at the base. The figures are constructed so that it appears that they are holding seven long pieces of dyed cloth, which are actually individual strips of colored paper. When the stands on the backs are pulled out, these seven separate strips bend out, giving them a three dimensional effect. One of the figures has had the stand pulled out, while the other has not. There are a few nicks and bends in the figures, but all in all they are in excellent condition.
