You may see these out there... But with a lid is very rare, most lids broke from normal use. This piece is over 100 years old.

Flow Blue was a type of transfer pottery produced by Staffordshire potters beginning in about 1820. Sold mostly in the U.S. market, flow blue was similar to traditional blue-and-white pottery, except that the blue colour was deliberately blurred, an effect achieved by adding a cup of lime or ammonia to the kiln during glazing.

English manufacturers of antique flow blue included Wedgwood, Johnson Bros., Minton, Royal Doulton and Swansea. Patterns ranged from Blue Danube to Idris to the classic Willow. As for the objects themselves, they included toilet wares and teapots, plates and platters, bowls, dishes and vases.

This Peach Royal Semi-Porcelain serving dish is an Antique typical of the Johnson Brothers Flow Blue range of pottery, There are some marks on the inside of the dish which are normal with the age 2024 of the piece. Some of the gold leaf has come off but still has a good deal left. Other than these, the piece is in excellent condition with no major chips, crazing, scratches or blemishes. A superb example of a rare and sought after antique.
