Thorens Swiss Music Box
Here is a wonderful Thorens, Rose Marie footed Swiss music box. It plays the beautiful song, "The Last Rose of the Summer". The box is hand constructed of mahogany wood and has a compartment for your jewels /trinkets and a glass covered compartment with the finely crafted Thorens music mechanism. When you open the lid the music is played and when closed it stops. Inside the lid is a laminated print of an angle holding a cornucopia that is spilling roses. There is a dove in the corner. This may have been added by a former owner. They also taped a label in the bottom of the compartment, Rose Marie, Made in Switzerland. It has a wind up key on the bottom of the box. The music mechanism is good working condition, the sound is soothing. The box has a nice patina. It measures 8" x 4" x 3 1/8", the empty compartment inside is 3 3/8" x 2 7/8" 13/4". It is a great music box!
