This is a stunning painting by Irene “Rae” Partridge in yellow and avocado green.
It's an oil painting on canvas board by well-known Chicago artist Irene “Rae” Partridge, circa late 1960's.
The painting features sunny yellow flowers on a background of yellow and avocado green. The entire painting is done in a slightly abstract expressionist, impasto style, which is highly textural and was quite popular in that time period. The piece has a natural linen mat and is set in an ornate frame.
This piece is over all in excellent condition. The gilt wood frame is also in good condition showing some age-appropriate wear, including some small stains on the linen matting and a couple of superficial scuffs to the frame that are small and barely noticeable. The frame could use some glue on one corner
Partridge was known around the Chicagoland art fair circuit in the 1960s and 70s. The reverse retains the artists original paper label, and the piece is presented in its original custom wood 2024 frame. The painting area is 8 X10 “ and is framed in an ornate gold and green wood frame.
