Highly decorative spalting.
Some texturing and a hole through channels eaten by wood worm.
A blend of bees wax and carnauba wax give a high satin finish.
Wood from the Essex Wildlife Trust, Pound Wood, Essex, felled as part of their coppice rotation.

On turning the inside some radial splits opened up which can be felt but barely seen.
These splits are stable - not liable to increase or effect the integrity of the vase. 2024
