For S Pitts, pair of Glass Stuffed Green Olives, one Pimento, one Blue Cheese, realistic and 2024 life-sized glass fruit beads/ pendants
Green Olive glass sculpture, realistic and life-sized hand blown glass figurine, good enough to fool the eye. You will receive 1 (ONE) handmade realistic glass olive that is about 1 inch long. Several olives have been shown in the photographs so you can see them from all angles. If you want to buy more than one olive, put the first one in your Shopping Cart. Then click into the Cart, where you can increase the quantity. Your olive will be whole, meaning not pitted or containing a pimento as some cocktail olives do. A single, flat color would not look real so the surface color is speckled, spotted and swirled to make it lifelike. Your olive will be carefully packed in natural white cotton inside a free paper gift box with a gold bow.
My glass olives are so lifelike you'll think they are real at first (and even second) glance. These are 2024 so realistic you have to keep them out of the reach of small children. They are heirloom quality art works. If you collect glass food these will be a great addition to your stash. Or give one as a gift to your favorite gardener, gourmet cook or foodie.
Multiple Items:
If you order several items from my Shop, they will be packed inside the same gift box to avoid waste. If you are ordering gifts for multiple persons and you do need separate gift boxes, please let me know in the Notes section of your order in the Shopping Cart.
About Shipping:
I ship most orders 1 to 3 days after they are received. Orders ship free in the US via USPS First Class Package Service, but if you need your package sooner, upgrades to Priority Mail or Express Mail can be purchased during Checkout. If you need more certainty, Message me to get pricing options for UPS 2-Day and Next Day Air. A signature will be required for all orders valued over $500. If it's inconvenient to sign for packages at your home address, during checkout you can provide the address of another place where someone will be available to sign - perhaps at your work or the home of a trusted friend.
The Nature of Mother Nature:
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tiny bit lopsided, and add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real.
Process and Materials:
I create each of my glass olives by melting glass rods in the flame of a torch using simple tools and gravity. I cover the surface with many layers of transparent powdered glass, melting them in one at a time. I use these layers to deliberately add streaks and speckles to the surface pattern. This makes it look much more like a real fruit. No paint is used, so the color will never rub, flake or chip off. And because I make each of these fruits individually from start to finish, no two can be exactly alike.
Photography:
The photos above are representative of the olives fruits I make in this style. The sculpture you receive will be similar to, but not exactly the same as, the one shown above. There will be some minor variations in the shape, size and color patterns of each fruit or leaf.
