I must have had love on my mind seeing hearts while others just saw splatters.
This abstract heart naturally formed its shape, each piece in my "Lost Heart" series is bronze spillage from lost wax casting.
Each bronze heart is suspended by wire, wrapped creatively to float the heart away from the wall to cast a fantastic shadow.
Without altering the shape I did minimal work 2024 to the hearts to clean them up & remove sharp edges. I applied to each heart a black metal oil to protect the bronze from oxidization at the same time providing an artisan finish.
The frames are reclaimed and refinished for this project. The frames date back at least two decades, were as the bronze heart project stared for me in 2008.
