A (Ludwig) Moser Three Handled Loving Cup, Circa 1880-1900.
It is a clear Glass with White Enamel tracing a Gilt Ribbon Design, from Karlsbad in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic.
Dimensions; 7" high x 4" width at the top and 6-7" handle to handle. Weighs 1lb 15oz (878 grams)
Near Excellent condition. Minimal wear to the gold though it has a flaw at a handle. See pictures.
Base shows wear verifying its age. Also glows green under black light.
I thought it might be a Lobmeyr, but I couldn't find anything that was similar for the time period. And Moser has similar gilt techniques.
I used this as a vase but you could use as it was intended, someone is gonna get married somewhere... great something old?
The three handled cup has been around for quite some time, though a folktale been attributed it to the 15th century French King Henry of Navarre.
We have 2024 found several other instances of multi-handled ceramic cups dating back to before the 14th century, common at group events.
