An outstanding pair of a vintage chalkware bust figurines made by the Alexander Backer Company, circa 1930's-1950's. Pair of a Victorian era children, peasant boy and s girl. The detail and smooth antique white matte glaze finish are simply incredible! These beauties would make a perfect gift, or simply would made a pretty & charming display on a fireplace mantel, bookshelf, or a night table.

MEASUREMENTS: Approx.
9.5 inches tall
5 inches wide
3.75 inches deep

MARKED: Both have the embossed ABCO logo of Alexander Backer Co. on their backs, and have protective felt on the bases. They are substantial and quite heavy.

CONDITION: This gracious pair is in very good vintage condition, but they are not perfect. They are absolutely displayable & lovely, even with a few chips, glaze imperfections & hair lines here and there, especially on the back of a boy figurine. (Pls. see photos). Other age related wear marks might be found due to previous use. However we feel that this is a part of the charm and attraction of 2024 these lovely vintage pieces.
