In the late 19th Century,, homes with music rooms had Pianos and needed a shawl to keep the dust off. Piano Babies were used to hold the silk shawls on pianos.

This company received an international award at the 1875 Santiago World Fair and then registered their mark that same year. Following the 1878 Paris World Fair awards, they officially registered their mark in 1879.

Items with marks like this were first seen in 1879 at the Sydney World Fair where they received another award. This mark was in use until 1886.
