Were you one of the “cool girls” in the 90's? Neither was I, but if you were you probably were wearing something like this Gigi Clark corset top with a pair of jeans, a choker, and some killer platforms 2024. I love the red silk Asian print because you can dress it down or up, however you're feeling. The beauty of these corsets is that they lace in the front so you don't have to be a contortionist or have a lady's maid to get the laces right. The back closes with hooks and eyes! The materials and construction on these corsets are so fine, you can see why they cost up to $600 new!
Label- Gigi Clark Couture Size 3 (REFER TO MEASUREMENTS)
Condition- Excellent
Measurements-
Bust- 17.5”
Waist- 14.5”
Length- 20”
For reference, I'm 5'6" at 33/26ish/36 and a contemporary size 4 in most modern brands. This was large on me. Measurements taken were fully closed. You want a lil "smush" action if you're wearing a corset!
When buying vintage, there are almost always going to be some imperfections. I do my best to describe the ones I find. You're choosing clothing with a past, and who doesn't have a few imperfections in their past? I try to focus on items that have the character that comes from a life well lived and try to avoid clothing with too much "baggage".
Also, when looking at measurements, give yourself some wiggle room! You AND your garment both want to be able to breathe! If you need more information about measurements, don't hesitate to ask!
