This is a small, landscape painting in oil of a beautiful classical urn fountain that sits in a private garden in Virginia. I had the privilege of sketching here as part of the Paint Great Falls plein air competition in September 2022. The garden was inspired by the landscaping of European, and especially, French gardens.

The urn gracefully overflows dripping into the lush, bright green foliage that surrounds it. A gravel walkway and a manicured hedge form the backdrop. I was the only one in the garden at the time, and 2024 this fountain reflects the peaceful solitude I felt in this French style garden.

Your artwork comes unframed, varnished, signed on the back, and initialed discreetly in the bottom right hand corner.
