A lovely folksy parrot bird, a glazed stoneware pottery bird figurine from Tonala (Jalisco region) in Mexico. It is hand painted with mineral paint in indigo blue, brown and beige colors. By our estimation it was made circa 1950's - 1970's.
Tonala pottery is traditionally famous for its design and decorative qualities.
This decorative figurine measures just under 11" tall (27 cm) tall and over 5" (13 cm) wide by 4 1/2" (11.5 cm) deep.
The item is not signed, but it is clearly a great quality piece.
