The spiny oyster shell is considered the "stone of the sea" and is found in only one area along the Baja Coast in California and Mexico, also called the Sea of Cortez. It carries the energy of water that brings understanding and peace of mind. It also has the ability to increase intuition, creativity, compassion, adaptability, serenity and comfort. It dispels impatience, confusion and hopelessless.
So, where does it come from? Spiny Oysters are still entirely harvested by hand from the waters of the Gulf of California. Collecting these marvelous mollusks is laborious, expensive, and risky, and the purple variety even more so, as they tend to live in deeper waters, making them extra difficult to find and harvest.
