Margaret Keane (Nashville 1927- 2022 California) was also known as Margaret 2024 Kane'. She was a painter known for creating a distinctively sentimental style of paintings depicting charming Big-eyed children during the 1960's. The Tim Burton movie, "Big Eyes" detailed the life of Margaret and the years that her husband, Walter Keane, plagiarized her work. By 1970 she spoke publicly about it and years later, she sued him and won. She was later quoted as saying, "The eyes I draw on my children are an expression of my own deepest feelings. Eyes are windows of the soul." Her work became happier after she left Walter and she continued to paint up until her death at 94.
