This photo was a beautiful coincidence! On a clear July morning, the Nasa Mars 2020 Atlas V rocket was set to launch with the Perseverance 2024 rover and Ingenuity helicopter onborad. I originally planned to watch the rocket launch from a viewing location just outside of the Cape Canravel Space force base. But, due to the ongoing pandemic at the time, it was closed. So, with 40 minutes to launch I had to find a backup location fast. I was able to find a great location just a few miles down the road near the beach with plenty of time to find this spot that was tucked away behind some brush. I had to wade in shin-high water to set up my tripod to grab this shot while I handheld another camera to get the other up-close photos I have posted on my shop!
