The sturdy link connector on the back of the cufflinks has a double swivel.
The bullet back swivels so you can put it through your buttonhole.
Also, swivel at the base of the bezel so it contours to your cuff & they can be tightened on your sleeve.

The stem that connects the front and the back of the tux studs is not long enough that they would spin around on the shirt. You first button the back of the stud on the back of the shirt then the sand dollar just buttons on like any other shirt on the front.
