Atlas General - Brion De La Tour - Louis Charles Desnos
**Frame and mat not included**
This general atlas was produced during the second half of the 18th century by Brion de la 2024 Tour, a French geographer engineer and Louis Desnos, also a Parisian geographer and bookseller, established rue St Jaques.
The book is both precise and decorative thanks to a frame made up of frescoes and has the particularity of having the explanatory text inscribed on 2 columns on each side of the map. At that time, geographers could work on fairly complete writings, most of the great discoveries and great voyages having already been made and the contours of the different continents measured and drawn by Dutch, English, Portuguese, French pilots and scientists.
The maps are hand colored with watercolors.
