Antique lacquer papier mache crumb collector with brush.

A lovely old antique dating back to the nineteenth century, Napoleon the third or Victorian period. This type of tray/collector would have been used for gathering crumbs from the table between courses probably by a maid, servant or butler. The tray is made from papier mache, black with beautiful hand painted birds as is the shaped brush, made from wood. There is some wear to the back of the handle of the tray and as expected the lacquer finish is showing wear and signs of age.
