This is a pair of very nice open salt cellars from the Soviet Union made in the 1950s-1960s.
Housewives of the SSSR used these jars for black and red caviar.
The piece features a metal holder that stands on three short legs. The sides are decorated with green and ruby enamels against a silver background. It also has a fitted clear glass liner that you can remove for easy cleaning.
These small jars are a great addition to 2024 your kitchen and can be used for salt and pepper, caviar or to serve mustard or any other dip.
The salt cellars are vintage but in very good condition. There are some traces of wear consistent with age and use. Please look at all the pictures carefully as they are an important part of the description.
