The Foodmap 2024 Container is a growing space for an an edible garden that enables people to grow food at home without taking up much space, yet producing a substantial amount of food. The contoured form of the container base is specifically designed to let water drain quickly and evenly which keeps plants from being damaged by sitting water, but also has two reservoirs where a small amount of water collects keeping the soil moist longer. The Foodmap Container is on wheels so one can move the container easily to the best growing space as weather and sunlight conditions change.
Our product is made with 100% FDA/USDA approved food-grade recycled High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic and is 100% recyclable. HDPE is a nontoxic weather resistant plastic ideal for gardening containers. HDPE is Bisphenol A and Phthalate free. The frame is made with metal tubing coated with a weather resistant powder coating.
As part of our commitment to being a socially and environmentally innovative company, Foodmap manufactures the container basin locally in our mini-factory located in Hacienda Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles County and has a partner manufacturer produce the metal frames in Pasadena also located in Los Angeles County. Furthermore, we buy all our supplies from small businesses in Orange and Los Angeles County. Local manufacturing and local supply purchasing lessens the carbon footprint of our product and supports our regional economy. And finally, producing food at home is an everyday activity that can improve our health, environment, and provide personal control over our food choices.
