This kimono fabric is a spectacular unused tacked-together unfinished Furisode kimono with hiyoku (lower lining silk only - upper lining not included) - basically a bolt of furisode fabric that has been tacked together to show a potential buyer how the furisode kimono will look when finally assembled to fit the buyer. It is being sold here as fabric but unlike a bolt of fabric it is cut into the pieces and tacked together so that you may better know how to reassemble this into a finished kimono. This is a beautiful handpainted silk Japanese Furisode Kimono pre-cut-bolt. It has a lovely design of handpainted and metallic gold high-lited flowers and ribbons especially peony, wisteria and chrysanthemums (mums) lavishly hand-painted and some gold-hand-embroidered across the body and dramatic long sleeves with areas of handpainted ribbons featuring traditional patterns. The fabric is in excellent unused condition and the lower lining (hiyoku) is a coordinating silk that is attached loosely. It is being sold for making into a finished kimono for wearing or for making great clothing, pillows, home decor, etc.

Size differences among kimono are minimal. They have all been made from a standard length of fabric--a tan--about 12 -15 yards long and 14 or 15 inches wide.

A brand new silk kimono like this can cost as much as a new car, being a vast amount of silk, with hand applied textile art and being entirely hand tailored, so a vintage one is a real bargain and they are often in virtually 2024 perfect condition or, if flawed, with minor, inconspicuous flaws. These kimonos or haoris are Recycled Vintage or Antique items and may have small stains, age spots or other spots that I haven't foundor mentioned. I have not dry cleaned them unless stated, so if this would be an issue for you then please understand that these are NOT new before purchasing. Truly a bargain.. but they may have small stains and other minor issues, though I choose the absolute best I can find for you!
