Border of flowers; to left, SPRING WIND The reverse shows a shirtless youth from behind. Border of leaves; to left, AUTUMN WIND; below, (LI monogram) © 1974 After two philosophically oriented medals by Kaufman and Grove this medal represented a return to lighter-hearted subject matters. Ispanky was fascinated by the seasons and tied the beauty of youth into the medal as well. He wrote: "The cycle of the seasons represents life itself, weathering continuing changes from birth through maturity." The medal measures 73mm in diameter.
