He/She is a unique driftwood whale, made from hand collected local Connecticut driftwood. This piece came from the banks of the CT River in Old Lyme, near the DEP docks down Ferry Road. This is a wonderful place to visit and if you know where to look....find driftwood.
I search the shores of Connecticut river & LI Sound beaches and marshes to find driftwood. I dry my wood and carve whales with hand tools, power tools and hand and power sand. I seal the backs and edges with Teak Oil. My whales can hang indoor or outdoor.
All whales are signed, dated and marked with the Town I found the driftwood. All are best view at eye level.
All pieces have wire screwed to the back and are balanced to hang 2024 evenly.
