Medium sized fancy hoop earrings, individually handcrafted from 2024 solid sterling silver, ornate fancy lace swirls and curls, hinged hoops
These fancy but simple hoop earrings are made from sterling silver that has been melted, shaped, soldered hammered and polished.
These hoops have a .8mm sterling silver ear wire that is held in place by inserting it through the hole at the back, and by the tension of the hoop.
These earrings can be put on and taken off by pulling them open only as much as is necessary to remove the wire from the hole.
Once 2024 the ear wire if through the ear lobe, the ear wire can be inserted through the hole in the back by lining it up and giving the hoop a gentle squeeze to push the wire about 1/8 of an inch though the hole at the back. It is important to always make sure the ear wire protrudes through the hole at least 1/8 of an inch after these are put on.
Putting these earrings on at first can take a bit of practice, but once people have done this a few times it becomes easy.
I teach people to do this by first practicing putting the wire through the hole holding them in their hands, without any ear involved, and then doing this a few times without looking. If this is practiced a few times, putting them on with the help of a mirror is usually easy.
These hoops measure 50 mm or about 2 inches from the top of the ear wire to the bottom point.
Each hoop weighs about 3 grams.
