Traditional African Kora string instrument. Plucked string instrument used in Africa for rituals and celebrations. Measures approx. 24" tall and the snare head rectangular sound box is approx. 8"h x 7" at the widest point. Made with genuine leather (from all that I have found, it could be goatskin or antelope hide), cowrie shells, colorful thread, wood and tacks or nails. See photos for full description. Free standing but has a leather strap for hanging.

I don't know much about this instrument. It was purchased from an estate of a world traveler and I thought it was very interesting. So my level of knowledge is very limited. Please ask any questions before purchasing. All sales are final.
